ICPCE 2023 brings together a collaborative scientific community to advance and support rigorous, evidence-based empirical research in the intertwined fields of psychology, counselling, and education.

The conference will be held in-person at Cebu Institute of Technology University, with an online option available.

The theme of the conference is “Building capacity for better mental wellness through multidisciplinary practice in the 21st century.”

The conference proceedings will be published on March 2024, in Psychreg Journal of Psychology.

Professor Nigel MacLennan runs the leadership coaching practice PsyPerform (which provides leadership coaching and development for CEOs, directors, and managers). He also provides psychotherapy for leaders and executives, globally via Zoom, WhatsApp, or Skype.

Dr Val Thomas

Dr Val Thomas is a UK-based psychotherapist, writer, and formerly a counsellor educator. She has specialised in developing applications of mental imagery and has published two books for Routledge titled "Using Mental Imagery in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Using Mental Imagery to Enhance Creative and Work-Related Processes". Recently, she has focused on drawing attention to the encroachments of critical social justice on the therapy field; first co-founding the online platform Critical Therapy Antidote and then editing a recent book of essays, "Cynical Therapies: Perspectives on the Antitherapeutic Nature of Critical Social Justice".

Dr Vicki Gier is a full professor of psychology at Mississippi State University (MSU)-Meridian’s Arts and Sciences Division. Dr Gier began her academic career at the University of Central Missouri participating in the McNair Scholars Program, which prepares first-generation, low-income university students to complete their doctorates. Dr Gier teaches both experimental psychology biological psychology courses. During ICPCE 2022, she will share her research on missing people.

DR RICHARD R. JUGAR

Dr Richard Jugar is a full professor of teacher education and the current dean of the School of Education at the University of San Carlos. He was recently appointed special advisor to the executive director of the ASEAN University Network. Concurrently, he also serves as project director of the DOST-SEI CBPSME programme and consultant for basic education, co-leading the Learning Loss Project.

DR GLENN C. GLARINO

Dr Glenn C. Glarino is the dean of the University of San Carlos School of Arts and Sciences. He completed his PhD in Social/Organisational Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University and is presently pursuing a second PhD at Silliman University. He was a member of the PAP Board of Trustees from 2015–2021, and served as vice president of the Psychological Association of the Philippines from 2020–2021.

Dr Elizabeth M. Remedio is the director of the Office of Naming Rights, Endowments, and Sponsorship. She is a university professor in the Graduate Business Department at the University of San Carlos. Dr Remedio's dedication to academic excellence and innovative leadership has garnered widespread recognition, including the prestigious ADSI 2022 award, where she was ranked top 1,000 (#605) scientist in the Philippines based on AD Scientific Index.

Dr Michelle A. Cellona is a registered psychologist who started her practice in 1997. She finished her AB in Psychology, MA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Doctor of Management in Human Resource Management at the University of San Jose-Recoletos. She completed her second doctorate in clinical psychology at Silliman University.

Dr Vincent Thomas Evangelista is a registered nurse, psychometrician, and psychologist. He also holds a list of certifications including a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Level 2, a Certified Clinical Telementalhealth Provider, and a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist. His relentless pursuit of knowledge is evident in his pursuit of a PhD in psychology at Silliman University.

Dr Anthony S. Grecia is a 24-year clinical practitioner and the first Filipino occupational therapist who obtained his doctorate in the Philippines focusing on clinical practice, programme development, and mental health. Having obtained his bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from the University of the Philippines-Manila, he continued and graduated with a master's degree in counselling and a doctorate in clinical psychology from Ateneo de Manila University.
